This past Saturday was a “Sweet Day” as monument staff celebrated the 16th Birthday of the designation of the Prehistoric Trackways National Monument. Aside from the guided hike to the Discovery Site led by Paleontologist Colin Dunn, a static display of trace fossils from the area and mini cakes provided from by the Friends of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks, members of the community and passersby gained a wealth of knowledge about life here some 286 million years ago.
