Doña Ana County is proud to announce that, in cooperation with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED), it will offer the Summer Enrichment Internship Program for the fourth year in a row. The goal of the program is to provide high school students with the opportunity to participate in high-quality internships in government agencies, businesses, and local organizations. The County will place students at internship sites based on the student’s interests and the needs of the organization.
Key Program Highlights:
- Open to High School Students and Recent Graduates: The program is open to high school students aged at least 15 years old, as well as recent graduates from the class of 2024.
- Competitive Pay: $15 per hour, up to $2,400.00
- Paid Internships: Selected participants will have the opportunity to engage in paid internships, ensuring that their hard work and dedication are duly rewarded.
- Work Permit Requirement: Students who are 15 years old will need to complete a work permit as required by local regulations.
“This summer internship program is not just about investing in our future leaders; it is about empowering them to shape their own futures,” Commission Chair Christopher Schaljo-Hernandez said. “Together, we’re opening doors, fostering talent, and building a community where every young mind has the opportunity to thrive.
