Apprehension Unit: State Police Capture Wanted Fugitive in Las Cruces

Saavedra was considered armed and dangerous and has a history of violent offenses, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

On November 17, 2025, around 11:00 a.m., the New Mexico State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the NMSP Tactical Unit safely arrested 28-year-old Gabriel Henry Saavedra in Las Cruces.

Saavedra had a nationwide extraditable warrant for:

  • -Kidnapping (1st Degree)
  • -Battery Against a Household Member
  • -Criminal Damage to Property

Saavedra was considered armed and dangerous and has a history of violent offenses, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center without further incident.
