The official unveiling and dedication ceremony will take place Thursday, December 18, at 3p.m. at Station 42. The public and media are invited to attend.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes are temperature-controlled, alarm equipped units that allow a parent to safely and anonymously surrender a newborn less than 30 days old, in accordance with New Mexico’s Safe Haven Law. Once the box door is closed, Doña Ana Fire Rescue emergency personnel are immediately alerted and respond within minutes to care for the baby.

Doña Ana Fire Rescue joins a growing number of agencies nationwide adopting Safe Haven Baby Boxes as part of their commitment to life safety and compassion.
