The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, in conjunction with Safari Club International Foundation, will host a duck-hunting camp for women age 18 and older at Caballo Lake State Park on Jan. 16-18, 2026. Participants will learn how to identify ducks and rules and regulations. They will also receive a hunter safety refresher, practice clay-target shooting and learn how to field dress a duck, with hunting on the Rio Grande and camping at Caballo Lake. Guest instructors Dr. Ryan Luna, Mia Anstine and George Oberstadt will be on hand.

January 16-18, 2026
Participants will learn: how to identify ducks, rules and regulations, hunter safety refresher, practice clay target shooting, duck hunting, and field dressing ducks. Guest instructors Dr. Ryan Luna, Mia Anstine and George Oberstadt, who have been instructors in prior years, will be joining NMDGF again.
This camp is open to women 18 and older who have experience shooting a shotgun or bird hunting.
Zoom orientation for participants on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at 6 p.m. Attendance MANDATORY. Information for Zoom meeting will be emailed to participants.
