The Las Cruces Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 40 citations during a one-hour enforcement operation held Thursday afternoon along north Telshor Boulevard.
 
The 40 citations included 14 for speeding, nine for having no vehicle registration and nine for driving without proof of insurance.

Other citations were for driving without proof of a license, using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and other miscellaneous traffic offenses.
 
The traffic enforcement operation began about noon Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, and lasted about one hour. LCPD will likely hold similar traffic enforcement operations in the coming weeks.
