Seven New Mexico Counties: Delinquent property tax auctions scheduled in March 

The auctions are intended to collect delinquent property taxes when taxes have been delinquent for at least four years.

SANTA FE – The Taxation and Revenue Department will hold delinquent property tax auctions in Santa Fe, Eddy, Lea, Harding, Union, Colfax and Otero Counties in March, allowing attendees to submit bids for the properties. 

The auctions are intended to collect delinquent property taxes when taxes have been delinquent for at least four years. The state notifies delinquent taxpayers about the taxes due and planned sales of property. If the state is unable to collect the delinquent taxes, the subject properties are auctioned for sale.

Auctions have been scheduled in the following counties: 

  • Harding County, 1 p.m., March 2, Commission Chambers – 35 Pine St., Mosquero, N.M. 87733 
  • Union County, 10 a.m., March 3, Commission Chambers – 200 Court St., Clayton, N.M. 88415 
  • Colfax County, 10 a.m., March 4 & 5, 230 North 3rd St., Raton, N.M. 87740 
  • Santa Fe County, 1o a.m., March 13, Santa Fe County Commissioners Chambers, 102 Grant Ave Floor #2, Santa Fe NM 87501 
  • Eddy County, 10 a.m., March 17, Eddy County Administration Building, 101 W. Greene St. Ste 211, Carlsbad NM 88220 
  • Lea County, 10 a.m., March 18, 100 N Main Ste 3-C, Lovington NM 88260 
  • Otero County, 10 a.m., March 24, Otero County Fair Associates, 401 Fairground Rd, Alamogordo NM 88310 

Successful bidders are required to make payment in full prior to the conclusion of the auction by money order, certified check, cashier’s check or a personal or business check if accompanied by a bank letter of credit that guarantees payment in at least the amount bid.

Registration begins in person at 8 a.m. on the day of the auction and ends promptly at auction time. Bidders must be registered to participate. 

If all accounts are paid in full in advance of the auction, the auction will be canceled.
