Investigation Ongoing: 14-Year-Old Airlifted Following Shooting Incident in Vado

Doña Ana Fire Rescue and the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a trauma call on Fuentes Lane in Vado, just after 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, crews located a 14-year-old with what is believed to be a gunshot wound. The juvenile was airlifted to a local hospital and as of Thursday morning, was in stable condition.

Two individuals have been identified as persons of interest in the case and are pending charges.

There is no known ongoing threat to the public.
