Doña Ana Fire Rescue Extinguishes House Fire in Las Alturas Early Friday

Doña Ana Fire Rescue Crews extinguished a house fire in the Las Alturas area, early Friday morning.

DAFR and Las Cruces Fire crews were dispatched just before 3:30 a.m. to a single-story home on fire.

Firefighters quickly worked to ensure all occupants were safely evacuated. Following primary fire attack, crews were forced to transition their operations into a defensive strategy when the hydrant located across the street could not support the operation.

Ultimately, the fire was contained and crews worked to extinguish remaining hotspots. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
