A series of officer-involved shootings across New Mexico over the past week has drawn attention to a cluster of incidents involving armed suspects and ongoing investigations by multiple agencies.
Across at least five reported incidents—from Santa Fe County to Las Cruces—no law enforcement officers were injured. In each case, the suspect involved was reported deceased following exchanges of gunfire or related encounters.

The most recent local incident occurred Friday in Las Cruces, where an officer-involved shooting took place during a narcotics investigation near the 2300 block of Lohman Avenue. According to investigators, agents attempted to make contact with a suspect when shots were fired. The suspect, identified as a 45-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered, and the case remains under investigation by the Officer-Involved Incident Task Force.
