Girls Basketball provides our broader community with a match-up between the Lady Trojans of Mayfield High School and the Lady Knights of Organ Mountain High School.
A Special Sports Report from Las Cruces Digest
The game will be played at “The Castle” at Organ Mountain High School, with tip-off scheduled for 7pm. Both the Lady Trojans and Lady Knights stand at 8-1 in 5A District 3 play.
Organ Mountain’s last loss was to Las Cruces High on January 26. The game ended in overtime with the Lady Bulldawgs inching out a win 60-58. This is their only loss in 5A District 3 play.
Mayfield’s last loss, and only fall in 5A District 3 play, was on February 6 to the same Organ Mountain squad they will be facing this Friday. While they fell at home to the Lady Knights 47-43 just a few weeks ago, they remain in contention for a District Title. Taking the “W” on their opponent’s home court would be sauce for the goose.
