Las Cruces — Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority created more than 7,000 dispatch records for the week; however, Las Cruces Digest presents primarily responsive actions taken by our public safety officers (police, fire, codes and EMT). These instances are broken down into specific subject areas to make the information more accessible to our broader community. This report focuses on medical responses. To protect the privacy of our neighbors, no neighborhood specific data is presented here. Other reports break down incidents by neighborhood and region. The tallies listed are NOT COMPREHENSIVE. Only dispatch calls primarily of a medical nature are counted here. Medical responses secondary to another incident are not represented in the counts. For example, instances where a motor vehicle accident resulted in injury are not included since the injury was the result of another reported response–the motor vehicle accident. Also, multi-agency responses are counted as a single instance.

Vamos a chismear…

  1. The “Daily Medical Responses” numbers are for medical as the primary reason for the call–ONLY. Many other calls require a medical response, but are not counted here. [For example: Medical responses to motor vehicle accidents resulting in injury are not included in these totals.] ↩︎
  2. The “Weekly Medical Responses” numbers should not be mistaken for statistics of instances of medical conditions in our broader community. Each number is an unverified count of calls to regional dispatch and indicate instances of what was reported ONLY when public safety officers have been dispatched. This is why the “General Medical” count is so high; there is often no way of classifying a medical condition requiring immediate attention. The list of named conditions responded to should not be used to determine whether a medical emergency warrants attention from a public safety officer. CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY IF YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. ↩︎
