In each instance, the Aggies made our broader community proud. Furthermore, they embodied a competitive spirit that is sure to catch fire across campus and throughout the Borderland.

Last year, the Aggies captured top spot in Conference USA in part due to the standout performance of CUSA 2023 Player of the Year, Loma McNeese. The 2024 Aggies had no standouts–they stood as a testament to great team play. Loma Neese remained a presence in 2024, earning Offense Player-of-the-Week accolades in week three; however, two fellow Aggies earned this honor for the two weeks prior: Meredith Scott and Brooke Schultz. The first three weeks of the honor belonged to Aggies.

Defensively, only Jena Johannes was recognized as Player of the Week. Of course, she was recognized on two occasions. Goalkeeper, Valerie Guha, was honored as Player of the Week once.

Thank you, Aggies!

Las Cruces Digest would like to extend a heartfelt, “Thank you!” to this year’s Aggies soccer squad. You provided our broader community with sportsmanship worthy of our attention. But don’t take our word for it. New Mexico State topped Conference USA in attendance, averaging more than five hundred in attendance for each game.
