Tinani places fourth in platform event to highlight Lumberjack Diving Invite.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State swimming and diving program continued its pair of midseason events from Houston and Flagstaff on Friday. The Aggie swimmers closed out a strong week at the CRWC Natatorium as Katie Rink closed out her impressive week. Meanwhile, Mira Tinani turned in a strong day on the second day of competition in Arizona.

Katie Rink and Estel Galo opened the day with a pair of strong performances in the 1650 freestyle as Rink placed seventh with a time of 16:51.61 and Galo placed eighth with a time of 16:54.82.
Later, Dijana Mazumdar turned in a solid performance in the 100 free as she won the B final with a time of 50.29.
In the following event, Kodi Wiman tallied an 11th-place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:18.05 while Foteini Charitou secured 15th with a time of 2:19.04.
NM State closed out the day on a high note with a fifth-place finish in the 400 free relay as the team of Emily Dobbins, Dijana Mazumdar, Lina Khiyara and Katie Rink combined to post a time of 3:23.43.
LUMBERJACK DIVING INVITE
NM State landed a trio of divers in the finals of the platform dive on Friday. Sophomore Mira Tinani led the way with a fourth-place finish as she posted a score of 446.85 in the finals. Meanwhile, Peytton Moore and Addison Pastiak followed closely behind as Moore turned in a finals score of 386.80 to place 10th while Pastiak submitted a score of 361.95 to finish 12th.
The Aggie divers also competed in the team event on Friday afternoon and finished seventh with a score of 200.05.
The event will conclude on Saturday with the 1-meter dive. The final day of action is slated to begin at 10 a.m. MT. Live results can be found here.
