EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP men’s basketball team’s game against I-10 rival NM State at the Don Haskins Center 7 p.m. Saturday is sold out. Fans are encouraged to wear blue to help “Blue Out” the Don and download their tickets in advance.
The Miners (12-3, 2-0 CUSA) will be taking on the Aggies (9-6, 2-0) with the “Bear’s Den” at full capacity (12,000) for the first time in nine years. In 2015-16, UTEP bested WKU, 93-89, in overtime on Feb. 6, 2016, as part of the school’s 50th celebration of the 1966 NCAA Championship team.
It will mark the 115th sellout at the Haskins Center and the first against NM State since the Orange and Blue bested their rivals, 79-61, on Dec. 18, 2004.
Following the matchup with the Aggies, six home games remain in the regular season. UTEP will lock up with Jax State (7 p.m., Jan. 23), Kennesaw State (7 p.m., Jan. 25), FIU (7 p.m., Feb. 13), Liberty (7 p.m., Feb. 15), WKU (7 p.m., Feb. 27) and Middle Tennessee (2 p.m., March 1).
