LUBBOCK, Texas – NM State returned to the Sports Performance Center on the campus of Texas Tech for day two of the Corky Classic. Competing alongside power conference competition such as Miami (FL), SMU, Baylor, Arizona State and Texas Tech among others, the Aggies tallied a multitude of solid performances.
Track Headlines
Opening the truncated second day of action with the 200m dash, senior Mickaliliah Vassell posted the best time among seven Aggies in competition with a mark of 24.54 seconds, finishing 14th overall. Fellow senior Sierra Brewer finished right behind in 15th with a time of 24.58.
True freshman Jaylah McDonnell and Julissa Daniels also competed in the 200m dash, their first event with the Crimson & White – with McDonnell posting a time of 24.95, fourth fastest on the Crimson & White.
Competing in the 600 yard dash for just the second time in her collegiate career, Jahnya Hill posted a new personal best of 1:22.28; finishing fourth in her heat and eighth overall. Breanna Moss partook in the event for the first time with the Crimson & White, while freshman Sahara Tasker made her collegiate debut with a time of 1:26.03.
Transferring to NM State ahead of the 2024 cross country season, Amanda Radava made her indoor Crimson & White debut in the mile, crossing the line with a time of 5:06.77, taking 13th overall. Nia Allison recorded a second-place finish in her heat with a time of 5:11.96, while Marlene Mosqueda (5:15.77) and Angela Korte (5:29.85) recorded new personal bests.
Approximately 90 minutes after racing in the mile run, Nia Allison and Amanda Radava returned to compete in the 3000m run, joined by Khloi Bird, Kayla O’Connell and Jordan Torres. In her sole event of the weekend, Torres led the Aggies while recording a new personal best with a time of 10:19.64 to take fourth overall; with fellow junior Khloi Bird posting a mark of 10:22.20 to take fifth.
Field Headlines
Rebecca Green was the lone entrant into the shot put finals for NM State, posting a best mark of 15.43m (50-7.50″), taking fifth overall on the afternoon.

UP NEXT
After opening the 2025 season in the Lone Star State, the Aggies will compete in the Land of Enchantment throughout the rest of the regular season; starting with the MLK Invitational which takes place Jan. 24-25, hosted by the University of New Mexico. After three meets in Albuquerque, NM State will turns its eyes to Lynchburg, Va., the site of the 2025 Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships – held Feb. 28 through March 1.
