Today, New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez announced that the New Mexico Department of Justice has joined a coalition of 22 states challenging the Trump administration’s unconstitutional order freezing federal funds to programs administered by the states. New Mexicans can rest assured that we will not stop fighting for funds that assist healthcare, housing, early childhood education, etc. This unconstitutional power grab will not go unchecked.
In response to the Trump Administration’s order to freeze federal funds to programs administered by the states, the New Mexico Department of Justice (NMDOJ) has joined a coalition of 22 states challenging the order and has filed a temporary restraining order seeking to immediately restore funding for critical services.

While the coalition’s broader legal challenge proceeds, the NMDOJ is gathering information from programs affected by the funding freeze. If your program is unable to access funding or is facing other disruption due to the freeze, please follow the link to fill out the requested form.
