NM State kept its momentum rolling in Lubbock, following up Friday’s upset over Texas Tech with another strong performance, defeating UTRGV 5-2. With the victory, the Aggies improved to 2-0 on the weekend and positioned themselves for a potential perfect run in Lubbock.

The day began with doubles play, where the Aggies struck first as Tobias Wallin and Gustavo Campos earned a 6-3 victory over Sam Whitehead and Paolo Bonaguro. Despite the early lead, the Aggies dropped the next two doubles matches, giving UTRGV the first point of the day.
Needing a response in singles play, NM State delivered in dominant fashion, winning five of six singles matches to secure the overall victory. Matias Rojas, Tobias Wallin, and Holland Snell each claimed straight-set wins, setting the tone for the Aggies’ comeback. Itay Feigin and Lance Urlaub then battled through three-set thrillers to seal the match. Urlaub outlasted Paolo Bonaguro 6-0, 7-6, 6-3, while Feigin delivered the finishing blow, grinding out a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory over Ivo Isquiero.
