NMSU Women’s Tennis Rolls to Consecutive 7-0 Victories

NM State shuts out Seward County and Western New Mexico in dominant fashion.

NM State opened its doubleheader in dominant fashion, shutting out Seward County CC 7-0 with a commanding performance across the board.

In doubles play, the Aggies took advantage of a forfeit by Seward and swiftly handled their two remaining matches. The pairs of Nadia Nemeth and Anna Pinaieva, along with Dora Kurdi and Whitney Moon, both cruised to 6-2 victories to claim the doubles point. 

The momentum carried into singles, where the Aggies secured straight-set wins across the lineup. Pinaieva defeated Emma Petton 6-3, 6-3, while Lisa Zhu dominated with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ramirez-Botella. Moon added a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Otoha Mogi. Freshman Nemeth and Montana Parkinson-Luboldcompleted the sweep, with Nemeth posting a 6-3, 6-1 win and Parkinson-Lubold battling to a 6-0, 7-5 triumph.

The Aggies kept their momentum rolling in the second match of the day, securing another 7-0 sweep—this time against Western New Mexico. 

NM State took control early in doubles action, winning all three matches. The duo of Zhu and Parkinson-Lubold made the most of their opportunity, breezing past Emma Lootens-Stael and Ana Montero Villegas 6-1. 

Singles play saw another dominant showing, as the Aggies completed their second flawless performance of the day. Moon capped off the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-3 victory to seal the sweep.
