A public meeting for the Madrid Avenue Extension Project will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, in the cafeteria at Loma Heights Elementary School, 1600 E. Madrid Ave.

This will be an in-person meeting to answer any questions from the public regarding the reconstruction project, with an overview of the timeline and final design. The project, from Evelyn Street east to Triviz Drive, will include the installation of new asphalt pavement, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, street lighting, striping, curb ramps, street signs, storm drains, and landscaping.
New sewer, water, and gas lines will also be part of the utility improvements for the project. Borrow pit locations for hauling embankment soil for roadway realignment will also be discussed.
Spanish interpretation will be provided at the meeting, and the Loma Heights Elementary School cafeteria is ADA accessible.
