NM State secures a 4-3 victory over Nevada before falling 4-2 to Sacramento State.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – NM State men’s tennis wrapped up a competitive day at the Sacramento State Tennis Complex on Friday, splitting a pair of matches against Nevada and Sacramento State. The Aggies secured a thrilling 4-3 win over Nevada before falling 4-2 to the host Hornets.

MATCH ONE | NM State 4, Nevada 3
The Aggies opened the day on a high note, edging Nevada in a closely contested match. NM State earned the doubles point behind a dominant 6-3 win from Gustavo Campos and Tobias Wallinat No. 2 doubles. Despite Nevada picking up wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, the Aggies made their mark in singles play.
Tobias Wallin and Itay Feigin set the tone with straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 1 singles, respectively. The decisive point came from Holland Snell at No. 3 singles, where he battled to a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Lucas Hammond. Roko Stipetic added another singles win at No. 6 to clinch the match for NM State.
MATCH TWO | NM State 2, Sacramento State 4
In the second match of the day, NM State faced a tough challenge against Sacramento State. The doubles point came down to the wire, with Sacramento State clinching victories at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the early advantage.
Despite the setback, the Aggies responded with strong performances in singles play. Tobias Wallin picked up his second singles win of the day with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph at No. 2, while Matias Rojas secured a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4. However, the Hornets won key matches at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5 to close out the contest.

The Aggies will finish out the Golden State Invitational with a match against UC Davis tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
