SANTA FE, N.M. — The New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Office of Strategy, Science & Technology today announced five contractors were chosen for sector-specific business assistance for New Mexico startups in science and technology.

These contractors represent a substantial addition to the resources the office provides to grow New Mexico businesses and the state’s science and tech ecosystem. 

The contractors were selected through a Request for Proposals that sought to award contracts to companies who, in conjunction with the Office of Strategy, Science & Technology (OSST), could provide tailored business assistance and one-on-one direct hours of support for businesses in the science and technology sector, including advanced computing, advanced energy, aerospace, bioscience, and water technologies. EDD received 16 proposals.

The selected contractors in each sector are:

  • Advanced Computing: Hoonify Technologies
  • Advanced Energy: Arrowhead Center at NMSU
  • Aerospace: New Mexico Trade Alliance
  • Bioscience: The BioScience Center
  • Water Technologies: OneTen Capital

The OSST contractors will provide sector-specific business assistance on topics including business development; identifying sources of credit, capital, grants, and other financing; developing presentations for potential investors, financial models, and business plans; making connections with relevant stakeholders and potential resources; and monitoring sector developments and sharing relevant news and opportunities.
