LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State returns to action in split competition with a trio of meets in the Los Angeles area this weekend – the Pacific Coast Invite and Beach Invite, hosted by Long Beach, and the Bryan Clay Invite, hosted by Azusa Pacific. These become the final meets for the Aggies in the Golden State, with just two more weekends of competition ahead of the CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Middle Tennessee.
The Starting Line
- NM State journeys out west to California for the Pacific Coast Invite, Beach Invite and Bryan Clay Invite. The weekend begins at the Pacific Coast Invite on Thrusday, April 17. Fans can follow along with the action through links provided at nmstatesports.com.
- Over the weekend, the Aggies will compete with programs such as BYU, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisville, Purdue, Iowa, Iowa State, Clemson, UTEP, Liberty, and hosts Long Beach and Azusa Pacific, among others.
- As a team, the Crimson & White will compete in nine events: 400m, 800m, 1500m, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Hammer Throw, Javelin and the 5000m (M).

Fresh Faces
- Following the departure of a historic senior class, the Aggies welcome a multitude of new student-athletes, with a wealth of accolades ready to make their mark on the Crimson & White.
- After competing with the cross country team in the fall, Rachel O’Brien returns to the Aggies for outdoor competition.
- Sprinters and hurdlers making their first outdoor runs with the Aggies in 2025 include Julissa Daniels, Jaylah McDonnell, Sahara Tasker, Sara McKee and Marlee Cavitt.
- Ellie Breckenridge, Samonne Cauley, and Kylie Rubrecht have debuted their outdoor careers with NM State, while Bailey Beene now competes in the discus alongside the javelin toss.
Dual Sport Star
- Sophomore Marlee Cavitt is set to continue her track & field career with NM State after transferring from the University of Portland last summer. In one of the most unique situations in the nation, Cavitt is also a member of the NM State Soccer team, becoming a pivotal member of the backline defense, finishing third on the team in minutes played (1,575) in a debut season that saw the Aggies tally 10+ wins for the third consecutive season.
- Cavitt competes in short sprint events for the Aggies, posting indoor bests of 7.59 in the 60m dash and 24.39 in the 200m dash, while helping the 4×100 team record a mark of 44.89 in outdoor competition – the fifth-fastest in program history.

- Andrew Gibby and Jordan Torres took first-place finishes in their respective event debuts – two of 13 total podiums for the Crimson & White in El Paso.
- In the first of two personal bests on the day, Breanna Moss tallied a time of 14.04 in the 100m hurdles, taking fourth overall. In the 400m hurdles, Breanna Moss tallied a new personal best time of 59.91, the second fastest time in the event.
- Lane continued her strong day at Kidd Field, recording a third-place finishing the discus with a mark of 45.58m (149-6″). Albuquerque native and true freshman Ellie Breckenridge also posted a new personal record.
