LONG BEACH, CALIF. / AZUSA, CALIF. / LA VERNE, CALIF. – The Aggies followed yesterday’s performance by rolling along into day 2 of racing and throwing in Long Beach/Azusa. After a strong start for NM State, which included several PRs and one school record, the team would continue to represent Crimson and White to fullest.

Field Headlines
The Aggies competed in both Javelin and Hammer throw to give the Aggies a score on Day 2. Starting out for the day, Kylie Rubrecht would kick the team off for the day with an incredible third attempt (38.90m) in Javelin to grab a new personal best. Later throughout the day, Kamryn Cadie would enter the pit to throw a huge 48.59m in Hammer and also pick up a personal best.

Track Headlines
The Aggies wouldn’t step on the track until the evening session as the team would patiently wait for the 1500m to start.
Both Marlene Mosqueda and Angela Korte came out hot as the two mid distance runners shared sperate personal best times and each taking victory in their own respective heats.
Following this, both Thomas Croshaw and Andrew Gibby also picked a pair of PRs in the men’s 1500m run as the two would be the solo men’s performers on Day 2 of the Bryan Clay Invite.
Shortly after, Rachel O’Brien, who currently sits in first of the CUSA rankings of the women’s 1500m, once again showed another dominating performance for NM State as she too would come across the finish line first in her heat and take a personal best in the process with a time of 4:14.86.
Nia Allison wrapped up the Bryan Clay Invite for Aggies by also picking up a personal best with a time of 4:29.37.

Track Headlines
Only a handful of Aggies represented Day 2 of the Leopard Distance Festival. All three of the NM State’s men’s entries picked up a solid personal best performance in the 5000m which was led by Leo Valenzuela who finished just two seconds under 15min with a time of 14:58.47.

Aggies Wrap Up Roadtrip at Long Beach Invite
Two Aggies place in top 20 to finish coastal meet.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – Closing out the final day for the Aggies, four athletes competed across the board today. Leading the team in Discus was Alesha Lane who had a strong start to place herself 15th overall in the field with a mark of 47.38m. In Shotput, Kamryn Cradle would hold the best mark on the Aggies’ squad with her best throw of 13.90m on her final attempt.
Aileen Alvardo represented NM State in high jump as well. After clearing 1.58m on the second attempt, she fell short at 1.63m. This mark was just 2 centimeters shy from her best performance which she earned at ENMU two weeks ago and again at UTEP.

NM State will split on the road this week as the sprint squad will head to LSU for the Alumni Gold Invitational. The rest of NM State will compete in Albuquerque at the Don Kirby Twilight hosted by New Mexico Lobos.
