Bunch Battles on Second Day of NCAA Lexington Regional

NM State regional participant sits in tie for 34th with 18 holes to play.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – NM State women’s golfer Emma Bunch concluded play in the second round of the NCAA Lexington Regional and finished her day in a tie for 34th with a total score of 149 (+5) at Keen Trace Golf Club.

On Tuesday, Bunch got out to a blistering start, tallying birdies on four of the first six holes to help her make the turn at three under par to remain within reach of the leaders. However, Bunch was unable to carry this momentum into the back nine as she wound up with a 77 (+5) for the round.
 
Currently, Florida State’s Mirabel Ting sits alone atop the leaderboard after posting a 68 (-4) for the second straight day, putting her at 136 (-8). On the team standings, Florida State (-14) is currently pacing the field with Georgia Southern (-5), Kansas State (E), Southern California (+2) and TCU (+6) rounding out the top five.
 
On the week, Bunch has now recorded eight total birdies which is tied for sixth-most among the 66-woman field. Additionally, bunch is a combined two-under on par 5s for the week, ranking tied for 15th in the field.
 
Bunch will conclude her week at Keen Trace on Wednesday when she is scheduled to tee off at 7:50 a.m. MT for the third straight day. She will play the final round alongside Ball State’s Jasmine Driscoll and Samford’s Gabi Nicastro.
