City of Las Cruces Memorial Day Schedule 2025
In observance of Memorial Day, most City of Las Cruces offices will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025. However, all emergency services, including police and fire will operate as usual.

City offices and facilities closed on Memorial Day include:
- A Fielder Memorial Safe Haven.
- City Hall.
- East Mesa Recreation Center.
- Youth Development and Diversion.
- Castaneda Parks & Recreation Administration Office.
- Foothills Landfill.
- Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center.
- All Las Cruces Libraries and its branches.
- Meerscheidt Recreation Center.
- All museums.
- Rio Grande Theatre.
- All Roadrunner Transit operations and facilities.
- All Senior Programs facilities and services.
- South Central Solid Waste Authority Administrative offices.
- Visit Las Cruces.
Open, with hours, includes:
- Solid Waste collections will occur as normal for residential and commercial customers who are scheduled for service on Monday, May 26, 2025.
- The South Central Solid Waste Transfer Station, 2865 W. Amador Ave., Dona Ana County Collection Sites and Corralitos Landfill will be open with normal service hours.
- City swimming pools will be open Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a free swim day at the outdoor Laabs Pool, 750 W. Picacho Ave. This pool will have two swimming sessions. Session I will be from noon to 3 p.m. and Session II will be from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- The Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., will have an Aquatic Fitness Session from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m., with open swim session from noon to 3 p.m. and 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
- The upstairs Fitness & Weight Room at the Regional Aquatics Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- The Las Cruces Natatorium, 1405 E. Hadley Ave., will have normal hours of operation 6 – 11 a.m. and 4 – 8 pm
Doña Ana County Memorial Day Schedule 2025
All Doña Ana County administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected by this closure. However, the administrative offices of the Sheriff’s Office, Detention Center, and Fire Rescue will also be closed.
Regular operations will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27.
Public health offices closed for Memorial Day
NMDOH Helpline available during the holiday weekend
SANTA FE- State public health offices and administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.
All New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) offices will reopen as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, May 27.
The NMDOH Helpline, 1-833-SWNURSE (1-833-796-8773) will be available during regular business weekday business hours through the holiday weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Helpline is staffed by nurses available to speak in English and Spanish for health questions, health care connections and provider support.
The NMDOH Helpline can also help assure residents’ vaccination records are up to date and can assist with vaccine scheduling for both adults and children.
