In both Boys and Girls action, our broader community is represented in three of the ten brackets. The most active bracket is the girls 5A slate where three local teams (and four from 5A District 3) are seeded for competition. The Lady Trojans secured a 5-seed after the tremendous effort displayed against Organ Mountain High School to end the regular season with the District 3 title. The Lady Knights were seeded 6–right on the heels of their district rival. Both the Knights and the Trojans will face their first tournament challenge at home with Organ Mountain hosting 11-seeded Carlsbad and Mayfield hosting 12-seeded Clovis. Both matches start at 6 pm. Las Cruces High School earned the last spot in the tournament of 16, having been inched out of 3rd in District 3 play by Alamagordo (seeded 15). The Lady Bulldawgs travel to Hobbs to play the top-seeded Lady Eagles on the road. Download a .pdf of the Girls 5A Bracket HERE.
