Fire claims vehicle and minor home damage in Hatch

Doña Ana County, NM – Doña Ana County Fire & Rescue, Hatch Fire and Sierra County Fire Departments responded to a residential fire at the 100 block of Bianes Street, in the Village of Hatch, this morning.

Initial reports indicated a vehicle at one home and a secondary near-by home were on fire. The secondary home was not affected significantly and only sustained minor smoke and flame impingement, on an exterior structure.

All residents and pets were safely evacuated. Firefighters continue to actively mitigate the incident and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
