This event is an opportunity for Las Cruces youth groups to participate in a cleanup and receive a $150 stipend.

The cleanup can take place in areas such as their neighborhoods, streets, rights-of-way, nearby parks or trails, or any area that needs beautification. The New Mexico Tourism Department Clean and Beautiful has provided funding for a limited number of stipends for each youth group that participates and completes all requirements for this event.

To be eligible for funding, all members of the group must be 24-years old or younger and commit to cleaning up between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday, April 27, 2024. After completing the cleanup, groups can drop off any extra supplies and fill out the necessary invoice at any designated Walmart Supercenter in Las Cruces from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024.

On the day of the cleanup, volunteers will be provided a complimentary lunch.

Groups can register online for the “Youth Group Stipend Cleanup” at https://www.lascruces.gov/1392/Keep-Las-Cruces-Beautiful.

After registering, all groups will be placed in a lottery, and chosen groups will be notified by Friday, April 5, 2024. Once notified, a coordinator from each group will have one week to submit their vendor packet, if applicable.

The award payment of $150 will be made following the completion of the project and may take as long as 30 days.

For questions or information about this event, please contact Keep Las Cruces Beautiful at (575) 528-4506 or email klcb@lascruces.gov.
