DALLAS – Getting the job done on and off the field. Following an academic year in which the program recorded a 2.998 combined grade-point average to lead all nine institutions in Conference USA, the program was recognized as the Sport Academic Award honoree for football.
The 10-win Aggies not only exceeded expectations in between the white lines, NM State handled business in the classroom as well – improving their team GPA for the second consecutive year.
In total, the Sport Academic Award was granted to 17 total programs, including the Aggies who earned the award in their first year in the league.
NM State is set to begin its 2024 campaign in Aggie Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 31, when it plays host to Southeast Missouri. Kickoff versus the Redhawks is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
