Find Your Dream Job
Searching for a new role can feel like a full-time job. American Job Centers provide free help to job seekers for a variety of career and employment-related needs. These centers are designed to help businesses find qualified workers and help job seekers obtain employment and training services to enhance their careers. These services include skill assessments, career counseling, job search and placement assistance, and more.
Enrich Your Professional Experience
Are you looking for an adventure that can help develop your professional skills? The U.S. Department of State sponsors various educational, cultural, and professional exchange programs across the world. These programs offer participants an opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture while learning vital skills. Available programs include study and training in art, film, technology, language development, and global studies.
Improve the Work Experience
Part of professional wellness includes ensuring employees have the resources and support required to effectively perform their role. Employees with disabilities or long-term health issues may require workplace accommodations. The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) provides free, expert and confidential technical assistance to both employees and employers regarding workplace accommodations and disability employment issues.
Unemployment Resources
Losing a job can be stressful, however, there are government resources available to support you during your search for a new position.
- Unemployment Insurance: Unemployment Insurance (UI) provides financial assistance to eligible workers who become unemployed through no fault of their own and meet certain other eligibility requirements.
- COBRA Continuation Coverage: COBRA Continuation Coverage offers continued health insurance coverage to terminated employees whose coverage was previously provided by their employer. Eligible individuals can receive a 65 percent reduction of their COBRA premiums for up to nine months.
