NM State Soccer wrapped up their exhibition against Cochise College with a victory on Friday, Aug. 9, at the NM State Soccer Complex. Preseason All-Conference USA Loma McNeese recorded one goal with two shots on goal.

Sophomore Shila Rasoul had herself a goal to go along with four shots and two on goal. Brooke Schultz, Sydnee Johnson and Janae Shaklee recorded an assist on the night. As a team, the Aggies recorded 21 shots with eight on goal and three assists.
The Aggies will host Big 10 opponent USC in their 2024 season opener on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. MT.

NM State Soccer Predicted Second in Conference USA Preseason Poll. Three student-athletes were named to the Conference USA Preseason Team.
NM State Soccer comes in at second place in the Conference USA Preseason Poll, with three student-athletes named to the Preseason All-Conference Team, CUSA announced on Friday, Aug. 9. Ariana Leamons, Xitlaly Hernandez and Loma McNeese were the three players named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
The Aggies come in second in the Preseason Poll for the second year in a row as they were picked to finish second in the 2023 CUSA Preseason Poll. NM State received two first-place votes just one less first-place vote than they received last year.
#6 Ariana Leamons | Defender | Sr.
Leamons is coming off a spectacular Junior year where she was named to the 2023 All-CUSA Second Team. Leamons played in 19 contests while making 18 starts. She totaled 1,472 minutes, third-most on the team, and closed the year playing all 90 minutes in nine games. During the 2023 season, Leamons racked up two assists and one goal as a defender.
#14 Loma McNeese | Forward | Gr.
McNeese had a stellar 2023 season as she was named CUSA Player of the Year, CUSA Offensive Player of the Year, All-CUSA First Team and two-time CUSA Offensive Player of the Week. The lead engine in the NM State offense, starting in 19 games on the season totaling 1,462 minutes. McNeese led the team in points (18), shots (44) and shots on goal (20) while tying for the lead in goals (6) and ranking second in assists (6).
#25 Xitlaly Hernandez | Midfielder | Gr.
Hernandez had a stand-out 2023 season as she racked up awards such as CUSA Defensive Player of the Year, All-CUSA First Team and CUSA All-Tournament Team. The Team Captain started all 16 appearances of the year totaling 1180 minutes. She also helped anchor an NM State defense that posted a 1.63 GAA on the year, and a .86 GAA during CUSA play.
