The Road Department will chip seal Trails End Road in Doña Ana, in the County’s District 5, starting Monday Sept. 30.

The road will be reduced to a single lane and remain open for traffic throughout the maintenance work schedule, which is slated for completion by Friday, Oct. 4.
Chip seal is heated asphalt liquid sprayed on the road’s surface, followed by small chips. Chip sealing helps extend the life of asphalt by protecting the pavement from the effects of sun and water, increasing skid resistance and filling small cracks and other surface defects.

Motorists are encouraged to reduce their speed around maintenance areas, pay attention to signs and follow the guidance of road traffic control staff. The County appreciates residents’ courtesy on the road and patience while repairs are completed.
