The Las Cruces Police Department is investigating a carjacking and kidnapping that occurred on the 2600 block of N. Roadrunner Parkway and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

The incident took place at approximately 8:00 a.m. on October 24, 2024, when a female victim was sitting inside her vehicle while parked in the desert area. A Hispanic male suspect forcibly entered the vehicle, kidnapping the victim and drove away with the victim still inside the vehicle.
The suspect is described as Hispanic male, approximately 5’6″ tall, 160 lbs, thin build, and dark-complected, with tattoos on both arms. A distinctive tattoo of the word “Payaso” or “Pay” is located on his right hand. He was last seen wearing a black muscle shirt and spoke only in Spanish.
Shortly after the carjacking, the vehicle was involved in a collision at the intersection of N. Roadrunner Parkway and Santo Domingo. The suspect fled the scene on foot, taking several of the victim’s backpacks with him.
