Rachel O’Brien leads women to fourth-place finish, Thomas Croshaw paces men to sixth-place result

Heading east, the Aggies competed at the 2024 CUSA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2. Hosted by Jacksonville State at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala., NM State recorded a fourth-place finish in the women’s 6K, while taking sixth in the men’s 8K.
A pair of first-year Aggies earned themselves all-conference honors, as Rachel O’Brien and Khloi Bird recorded Second and Third Team All-CUSA nods, respectively. Sophomore Thomas Croshaw posted the top finish for the NM State men, earning Second Team All-CUSA honors.
Andrew Gibby (25:00.8) and Orion Chavez (25:16.6) led the Aggie newcomers, joined by Angel Maese, Jonah Archer, Gabriel Uranga, Leo Valenzuela and Christian Barreto in making their CUSA Championships debut.
Following O’Brien and Bird, Amanda Radava rounded out the top three finishes for the Crimson & White in the women’s 6K, posting a time of 21:42.3 in her CUSA Championships debut. Marlene Mosqueda, Valeria Macias Casas, Mari Gallegos and Trista Cordova also made their first appearances at the championship meet.
Returners Jordan Torres (21:44.4) and Kayla O’Connell (21:59.4) recorded their best times in the CUSA Cross Country Championships.
