Fire Damages Home on Salvia Loop in Las Cruces

Las Cruces firefighters extinguished a fire that damaged a home on the 4200 block of Salvia Loop early Monday morning.

About 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, Las Cruces firefighters responded to the report of a residential structure fire on Salvia Loop. First-arriving crews found fire and heavy smoke emitting from the home’s attached garage.

Firefighters made entry, attacked the fire and brought it under control with 15 minutes. The fire was contained to the garage.

Fire crews searched the home and found no occupants inside. Crews learned one resident was inside when the fire started and was alerted by a properly-working smoke alarm before exiting the home.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage to the home is estimated at $75,000.
