After School Program Lottery Registration for Some LCPS Schools

Registration begins Monday, July 1, 2024, and continues until Friday, July 12, 2024. Please note that city facilities will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

The program fee is $100 per semester per child.

The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation department’s After School Program will hold a lottery registration for the 2024-2025 school year for the following elementary school sites:

Alameda, Cesar Chavez, Sunrise, Fairacres, Jornada, Loma Heights, Monte Vista, and Sonoma.

Registration for the After School Program may be determined by lottery selection at sites due to capacity limits. Participants must attend the school where the program is being offered. The winning lottery numbers will be posted by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, and selected participants will be notified by email or text message.

Registration can be done online here or in person at the following locations during regular business hours:

  • Parks & Recreation department administrative office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
  • Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

After School Program hours will be from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday and will follow the Las Cruces Public School’s calendar. No programming on school half-days, remote days, or holidays.

Scholarships are available to families with certain economic restrictions who are eligible to receive financial assistance through the department’s Youth Scholarship Fund. Funding is limited and available only to Las Cruces residents on a first-come first-served basis. For information, call the Parks & Recreation department at 575/541-2550.
