Aggies Close Weekend at New Mexico Team Open

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Returning to the Albuquerque Convention Center less than 24 hours after a strong performance on day one of the New Mexico Team Open, NM State showed out once again on Saturday. With the conclusion of the meet, the Aggies now prepare for their final meet of the regular season, and penultimate meet of indoor competition – ahead of the 2025 CUSA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Track Headlines

Senior Aliyah Logan began the day of action in the Duke City in the 60m Hurdles. With strong competition in the first heat, Logan posted a time of 8.48 seconds, advancing to the finals with the eighth-fastest time. In the finals, Logan improved to a season-best time of 8.41 to take fifth.

In the 60m dash (unseeded), Grace Pendarvis improved on her season-opening time at the Corky Classic, recording a mark of 7.90 – a season best. In the 60m invitational, Marlee Cavittrepresented the Crimson & White, crossing the line with a time of 7.62.

The mile race hosted the largest amount of Aggies on the weekend, with six student-athletes in total competing. Amanda Radava tallied the best time, finishing 13th overall with a time of 5:02.78. Following Radava in heat two, Nia Allison became the first of five Aggies to post a personal best in the mile, finishing with a mark of 5:05.39, setting a new personal best. With these times, both Radava and Allison moved themselves into the top-10 results in program history.

Jordan Torres (5:10.52), Marlene Mosqueda (5:14.30), Khloi Bird (5:14.50) and Angela Korte (5:15.06) also posted strong results, each achieving personal bests in the event – with Torres taking second overall in the second heat.

The 400m invitational saw Mickaliliah Vassell shine, recording a new personal best of 54.97, finishing fifth. Sahara Tasker, competed in the event for the first time at NM State, posting a time of 55.28.
Jahnya Hill was the lone Aggie on the track for the 800m run, delivering a solid performance, clocking a time of 2:18.53.

Closing out the weekend with the 4x400m relay, with the team of Jaylah McDonnellBreanna MossGrace Pendarvis, and Jhana Downie crossing the line in 3:52.09.
Comprised solely of distance runners – who all also competed in the mile run just hours earlier, the NM State ‘B’ team of Marlene MosquedaAngela KorteNia Allison and Amanda Radava took first in their heat with a mark of 4:01.8 to close the weekend in Albuquerque.

Field Headlines

Rebecca Green took the top spot for the Aggies in the shot put, advancing to the finals with a mark of 15.61 meters (51-2.75″) – finishing seventh overall in the event which features 2024 NCAA Indoor Champion Mya Lesnar. Kamryn Cadle tallied a new indoor best in the shot put, posting a final distance of 14.04m (46-0.75″).

After competing in the long jump on Friday, Cameron Hodges returned to the Albuquerque Convention Center for the triple jump, posting a final mark of 11.43m (37-6″).
