Aggies get first win of the spring season following Lance Urlaub’s lead. The sophomore from Phoenix racked up a singles and a doubles (w/ Itay Feigin) win on the day.

NM State 4, Loyola Marymount 2
NM State wrapped up their road trip with a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Loyola Marymount, marking their first win of the spring season. A strong showing in singles and doubles play propelled the Aggies to the win, highlighted by three singles victories and two clutch doubles triumphs in a tightly contested matchup.
In singles action, the Aggies put on an impressive performance. Gustavo Campos, a key returner, secured his first singles win of the spring season with a commanding 6-2, 6-4 victory over Loyola Marymount’s Inig Diaz Ibarguengoitia. Freshman Holland Snell showcased both skill and composure in a tightly contested match, edging out Nikola Kuraica 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) in a thrilling second-set tiebreak. Sophomore transfer Lance Urlaub rounded out the singles success with a dominant 6-0, 6-4 win over Cesar Cruz.
The Aggies also showed improvement in doubles play, clinching two of the three doubles matches to earn the crucial doubles point. Matias Rojas and Holland Snell battled their way to a gritty 7-5 victory over Sebastian Nothhaft and Cesar Cruz, setting the tone for the Aggies. Similarly, the tandem of Itay Feigin and Lance Urlaub displayed teamwork and resilience, edging out Nikola Kuraica and Arthur Pantino 7-5 in another tightly contested match.
UP NEXT
The Aggies will hit the road again next week to participate in the UNLV Quad, where they will face UC Riverside, UNLV, and Weber State. NM State’s first matchup is scheduled against UC Riverside on Friday, Jan. 24, with the match set to begin at 10 a.m.
