In a highly anticipated in-state clash, NM State fell to New Mexico 6-1 on Sunday at the NM State Tennis Center. The Aggies battled throughout the afternoon but were unable to overcome the Lobos’ strong showing in both doubles and singles play.

The match began with doubles competition, where NM State dropped both completed matches. The duo of Itay Feigin and Roko Stipetic fell 6-1 at the top spot, while Gustavo Campos and Tobias Wallin put up a fight before ultimately losing 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. The third match featuring Matias Rojas and Holland Snell went unfinished with the Aggies trailing 5-2.
In singles play, the Aggies faced tough competition across the board. Tobias Wallin picked up the lone win for NM State in a hard-fought three-set battle, edging out Aditya Balsekar in a 7-6, 4-6, 10-6 thriller. Despite the overall score, the Aggies showed resilience. Roko Stipetic pushed his match to three sets at No. 5 singles but ultimately fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Matias Rojas battled in the first set of his match at No. 4 but came up short, 7-5, 6-0.
