Aggies Host UNM in the Battle of I-25

NM State is set to host UNM for their 13th matchup in program history.

Aggie Firsts
Sophomore Kennedy Herrera scored her first collegiate goal against #23 USC which was also the first goal of the 2024 season for the Aggies. Both Redshirt Junior Blakley Edgar and Freshman Andrea Alvarenga received assistance with the Herrera goal. This was both Edgar and Alvarenga’s first career assist.
 
On the second goal of the night versus #23 USC by Meredith Scott, Freshman Milana Eyrich received an assist along with Sydnee Johnson. This was Eyrich’s first career assist and Johnson’s second career assist.
 
Record Watch
Entering the 2024 season three Aggies have made quite a splash in the Aggie record book. Loma McNeese currently sits at second in all-time assists and game-winning goals. The fifth year She is also third in points, third in shots, and fourth in goals.
 
Xitlaly Hernandez has continued climbing the record book in her five seasons wearing the crimson and white.  She is sixth in all-time assists, seventh in shots, tenth in points and tenth in goals. Goalie Valerie Guha ranks second in all-time shutouts, sixth in goalkeeper wins, seventh in goals against average and tenth in career saves.
 
Unbeaten
The Aggies are currently on a nine-game regular season unbeaten streak, with their last loss being USC on Sept. 14, 2023. They are also on a five-game regular season home unbeaten streak with their last loss being UNLV on Sept. 7, 2023.
 
The Aggies are now 10-2-6 at home dating back to 2022. Since 2023 Offensive Player of the Year Loma McNeese arrived on campus the Aggies are 18-8-6 at home.
 
History
The Aggies and Lobos have played each other in 12 total matches, the Lobos have the advantage with 11 wins. The Aggies’ last win came in 2017 when the Aggies beat the Lobos 1-0. In the past two games, the Aggies have lost by a score of 1-3. The Aggies have a home record of 1-5 against UNM.
 
Scouting the Lobos
The Lobo’s leading scorer in 2023, Sophia Roberts, is returning in her Redshirt Senior Year after scoring four goals on the year. Their top goalkeeper, Allie Davis, is also returning this year after recording 1,445 Minutes with 75 saves and 23 Goals against.
