Aggies Improve at Red Raider Invite; Bunch Finishes Fourth Individually

NM State finishes 10th after 54 holes in Lubbock

 The Aggies’ concluded play at the Red Raider Invitational on Wednesday afternoon – finishing in 10th place with a score of 890 (+40) after 54 holes of action. The Aggies posted a score of 301 (+13) on the final day to move one spot up the leaderboard and finish one stroke ahead of rival UTEP.

Individually, the Aggies were paced by junior Emma Bunch who turned in a 70 (-2) to record her sixth round of the season of par or better and fourth consecutive subpar round. On the week, Bunch shot 71-70-70 to finish with a 54-hole score of 211 (-5). This was good for fourth place among the field which included 88 total competitors.
 
The Aggies’ second-best performance of the week came from Marley Moncada who rounded her week out in a tie for 50th after finishing with a 54-hole score of 229 (+13). This marks Moncada’s best finish of her Aggie career.
 
Not far behind Moncada was Isabel Laulhé who posted a 75 (+3) in the final round to leap 12 positions up on the individual leaderboard and into a tie for 55th. Laulhé’s card also represented the second-best round by an Aggie on Wednesday.

Angela Garvin finished just one stroke behind Laulhé and in a tie for 62nd after finishing the tournament with a total score of 231 (+15). Meanwhile, Kaylee Chen finished 17-over par to end the week tied for 68th and Camille Pazouki carded a 79 (+7) on Wednesday to place 78th.
 
The Aggies will now turn their attention to their next event – the NB3 Match Play hosted by Notah Begay III at Twin Warriors Golf Course in Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. In addition to the NM State women’s and men’s teams, the event will feature the men’s and women’s programs from New Mexico, Stanford and Texas and will be shown live on the Golf Channel.
