LAS CRUCES, N.M. – For the second consecutive year, Westwind Capital will serve as the title sponsor for Aggies in Paradise which serves as the commencement to the athletic seasons each year.
While originally scheduled for a Friday, this year’s event has been moved to Saturday, August 24, at 6 p.m. MT following the announcement that the Las Cruces-Mayfield football game is set to take place on Friday, August 23 – giving Aggie supporters the opportunity to attend the rivalry bout. Aggies in Paradise will be once again held at the NM State Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.
Previously known as Spence Asset Management, the group became the first-ever title sponsor of NM State Athletics’ largest fundraiser when they sponsored the island-themed event in 2023. During the function, fans are invited to join fellow Aggie supporters for a fun-filled evening alongside NM State student-athletes, coaches and staff members. The annual fundraiser for NM State Athletics includes dinner and a host bar in addition to both silent and live auctions.
The event traditionally sees approximately 500 Aggie supporters in attendance and tens of thousands of dollars in funds raised to benefit the Aggie Athletic Club. The funds will assist in helping the AAC accomplish its goal of covering educational expenses associated with providing Aggie student-athletes with a world-class experience at New Mexico State University.
