Aliyah Logan posts a fourth-place finish in the 100m hurdles, DMR team takes second in California.

Palo Alto, Calif. / Austin, Texas – Closing a long weekend of competition, the Aggies returned to competition in four meets – the Bobcat Invitational, the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, the Texas Relays and the Stanford Invitational.  
 
On the day, Aliyah Logan took fourth in the 100m hurdles, featuring a loaded field at the Texas Relays.  At the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, the distance medley relay team posted a second-place finish, along with multiple personal bests throughout the multitude of meets.
 
Texas Relays
Returning to action for Saturday’s 100m hurdle finals, Aliyah Logan improved on her time in prelims, finishing in fourth place with a wind-assisted time of 13.03 seconds (+2.6 m/s).
 
Jhana Downie finished with a time of 23.37 in the 200m dash as the lone NM State entrant in the event.
 
The quartet of Terice SteenGrace PendarvisJhana Downie and Mickaliliah Vasell was slated to compete in the 4×400 finals alongside programs like TCU, Arkansas and Texas Tech, but were a late scratch.
 
Bobcat Invitational
Cameron Hodges competed in the triple jump at the Bobcat Invitational held in San Marcos, Texas, on Saturday, posting a best mark of 11.46m (37-7.25″).
 
Stanford Invitational
Late Friday night, Maggie Gibbs and Emily Stutesman took part in the 10,000m run at the Stanford Invitational, providing stellar performances. Stutesman would finish with a time of 34:05.98, the second-fastest time in NM State history.
 
Maggie Gibbs already held the NM State record in the event with a time of 34:13.56, set at the 2022 WAC Track & Field Championships, but would shatter that mark in Palo Alto. Crossing the line with a time of 33:55.79, the Peoria, Ariz., native bested herself and set a new school record.
 
Another late-breaking result on Friday night saw Thomas Croshaw take first in his section of the 5000m run, posting a new personal best with a time of 14:33.36.  
 
Competing in the same event – though different sections – Thobile Amon and Thulisile Amon ran in the 800m. The former would finish with a time of 2:09.68 to finish second in her heat, and the latter Amon sister would record a final time of 2:11.09.
 
Thobile Amon would also compete in the 1500m run, posting a time of 4:31.35 to close her weekend of competition.
 
Ladina Kobler recorded the best mark for the Aggies in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 42.75m (140’3″). As well, Rebecca Green posted a personal best in the event, with a best distance of 39.56m (129-9″).
 
Kobler would also pace the Aggies in the discus, recording a personal best mark in the event with a result of 42.82m (140-6″). This is an improvement of over three meters compared to her best result at the Willie Williams Classic on Mar. 23 (39.50m).
 
Mariah Humphrey competed for NM State in the javelin, finishing with a best toss on the day of 36.66m (130-1″).
 
Mike Fanelli Track Classic
Freshman Nia Allison posted a personal best in the 800m run at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, finishing with a time of 2:18.24 to take the best finish among members of the Crimson & White. Angela Korte recorded an outdoor best in the event, finishing with a time of 2:19.16, while fellow freshman Marlene Mosqueda crossed the line with a time of 2:21.19.
 
After recording a personal best in the hammer throw at the Willie Williams Classic on Mar. 22, Camila Garcia Carrera bested herself in the event at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic –
taking first in her heat and fifth overall with a new personal record of 46.19m (151-6″).
 
Allison, Korte and Mosqueda would be joined by Vanessa Gracian later in the meet for the distance medley relay. The quartet finished with a time of 12:10.26, taking second behind Chico State.
 
In the men’s edition of the DMR, Collins Yego, Tyler Goode, Anekin Hetman and Thomas Croshaw recorded a time of 10:41.10 to finish second in their section.
