Aidan Thomas Earns CUSA Golfer of the Week Honors

DALLAS – Following his best performance of the year, Aggie golfer Aidan Thomas has been named the CUSA Men’s Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday morning. This past week, Thomas recorded a third-place finish at the UC San Diego Invitational to help guide the Aggies to their second team title of the season.

In Sunday’s opening round at Torrey Pines Golf Course, Thomas tallied four birdies on his way to posting a 71 (-1) to end the day in a tie for first. Following a 77 (+5) in the second round on Monday, Thomas responded valiantly with a 70 (-2) in the final round of play to move him into the top three. In total, Thomas submitted a 54-hole score of 218 (+2) to secure his third straight top-10 finish of the season and fourth top-10 placement of the season.
 
In total, the sixth year senior from Albuquerque, now has 15 top-10 finishes in his career with his performance at the UC San Diego Invitational serving as his best finish since March 2023 when he finished tied for third at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate.

Local Sports

Thomas becomes the second Aggie to be recognized as the conference’s men’s golfer of the week, joining Alexandre Bauduin who garnered the honor on Oct. 16, 2024.
