Art Walk: Army’s 250-Year History Through Artwork at the Pentagon 

A large majority of [art adorning the halls of the Pentagon] depict Army campaigns dating back to the service’s founding 250 years ago, on June 14, 1775.

More than 30,000 people bustle around the rings and corridors of the Pentagon daily, looking for an office or a food court — barely noticing the walls of its more than 6 million square feet of space. However, adorning those walls are works of art, displays and memorials, a large majority of which depict Army campaigns dating back to the service’s founding 250 years ago, on June 14, 1775.
