A structure fire damaged an unoccupied home on Lenox Avenue Thursday morning.

About 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025, Las Cruces firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the 1100 block of Lenox Avenue. First-arriving crews observed smoke emitting from the rear of the house and began maneuvering hose lines through difficult terrain to the home that sits at a grade above the roadway.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes of arrival. The structure received fire and smoke damage, but firefighters were able to minimize damage mainly to the contents of the home.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
