Breaking: Fire Damages Vacant Building on W Hadley Avenue 

Saturday afternoon. Firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the building when they arrived.

The Las Cruces Fire Department was dispatched to the structure fire just before 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the building when they arrived. Bystanders reported seeing a person inside the building earlier, but a quick search of the building resulted in no one located within the structure. Firefighters bought the fire under control within 25 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The cause is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
