Breaking: Structure Fire in Organ, One Found Dead

On Monday Feb. 3 just before 2 a.m., Doña Ana County Fire Rescue crews responded to a residential structure fire in Organ.

Despite attempts to rescue, an adult male was found deceased. His identity is being withheld pending family notification. No other occupants were in the apartment unit, and no other injuries were reported.

The local American Red Cross was dispatched to assist displaced residents of the apartment complex.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
