After two scoreless innings to open the game, the Aggies (18-16, 6-4 CUSA) broke through in the top of the third, manufacturing four unearned runs thanks to a combination of hits and three costly FIU errors.

The Lady Flames (35-8, 14-1) were held to five on the scoreboard, but the hosts mustered up just one run across 10 hits on Friday night.

 Andrew Gibby and Jordan Torres took first-place finishes in their respective event debuts – two of 13 total podiums for the Crimson & White in El Paso.

The Aggies’ travel squad will be made up of Aidan Thomas, Ethan Klose, Mateo Payan, Anthony Lara and Alexandre Bauduin.

The Aggies have their eyes on returning to the win column and cementing their place among CUSA’s upper tier with a statement against the No. 25 team in all of Division I.

The duo is among just five first-teamers, and this marks the second CUSA all-academic selection for Bunch and Garvin, who garnered first-team honors last year.

Friday will mark the 20th all-time meeting between the Aggies and Panthers, with this marking the fourth series in Miami.

In a field of 72 of the top amateur golfers in the world, Bunch finished tied for 11th (-4) following a final round at Augusta National Golf Club.

The Crimson & White wrapped up their series in El Paso and are set for a return home next weekend against Liberty. 

In the men’s mile, each and every Aggie made their event debut, with Derick Castellanos tabbing a top time of 4:26.59.

Despite keeping it a tight contest after falling behind 5-0 in the first inning, the NM State offense was not enough in a 7-4 loss.

The Aggies (16-15, 4–4 CUSA) were limited to just one run through the first seven innings, but a five-run eighth gave them their first lead of the night.

In her second track & field meet with the Crimson & White, Rachel O’Brien broke the school record she set 14 days ago, while a smattering of Aggies tallied new personal bests.

On the mound, the Aggies received a strong start and a shutdown performance from the bullpen.

The Aggies came out firing in doubles play. Dora Kurdi and Whitney Moon were credited with a win by default on court three to give NM State an early edge.

A fifth-inning grand slam broke the game open and the Aggies’ comeback proved to be too little and too late.

The 2024 Second Team All-American won six events for New Mexico State in calendar-year 2024, and added another win in the Spring Break Shootout in March.

NM State Softball will make the 40-mile trip south to the Helen of Troy Softball Complex for a battle with UTEP as both teams hit the midway point of the CUSA season.
