FIU dropped the doubles point to Miami, but responded to take four-of-six singles matches.

The group will officially be inducted on Friday, Feb. 14. This ceremony will be followed by a halftime recognition during the NM State men’s basketball home game against FIU which is set to begin at 7 p.m.

A strong showing in singles and doubles play propelled the Aggies to the win, highlighted by three singles victories and two clutch doubles triumphs in a tightly contested matchup.

Competing alongside power conference competition such as Miami (FL), SMU, Baylor, Arizona State and Texas Tech among others, the Aggies tallied a multitude of solid performances.

Road victories are hard to come by in Conference USA, and NM State (11-7, 4-1) faced a tough challenge looking to complete a road trip sweep with a win over Liberty (15-4, 3-3).

Taking part in their first competition of the season, NM State took their talents to the Corky Classic, held at the Sports Performance Center and hosted by Texas Tech.

NM State faced a hard-fought battle on Friday against Grand Canyon, ultimately coming up just short in a 4-3 loss.

The Aggies head into Saturday’s matchup against Liberty riding a seven-game winning streak, highlighted by a gritty 59-52 road victory over FIU.

Fresh off an impressive victory over I-10 rival UTEP in El Paso, NM State (11-6, 4-0) embarked on a challenging road trip, traveling over 2,000 miles to take on Conference USA opponent FIU (7-11, 1-4).
